1) The Barn

The Barn as it is known now began in 1969, when the company outgrew their  Oakville location and expanded to a new one in Mississauga.

For most of the 1970s through 1990s (including during 1980’s which was an especially booming decade), The Barn primarily dealt with wholesale antique business before finally diving into reproduction at the beginning of 2000s.

Nowadays the shop is mainly dealing with retail and rental, and supply for film and television productions.

The Barn is an authentic place conveniently located in a building that is almost 200 years old. Through the years this building has been moved a couple of times, additional entrance and the fireplace were added at the beginning of the previous century.

This company changed the owner in 1969, and has been the family-owned local business ever since! They buy antiques and rent their inventory, and their high-quality reproduction furniture is what they are known for.

FAQs About Vintage Furniture
At a vintage furniture store, you can find unique pieces that are no longer in production. These stores offer an eclectic mix of furniture, ranging from antique to retro and everything in between. If you’re looking for something special or unique, a vintage furniture store is the place to go.
It depends on the vintage store in question. Some stores are only interested in buying furniture that is considered antique, while others might be more willing to take on pieces that are a little bit older but still have some character. It’s always worth giving your local vintage store a visit.
Furniture can be considered vintage depending on a variety of factors, including when it was made, how well it has been preserved and who is judging. However, in general terms, vintage furniture refers to pieces that are at least 20 years old.
There are a few good furniture repair shops, but the best place to go is usually back to where you bought your piece. That way you can be sure that it will match and there won’t be any unnecessary stress on the piece from being transported back and forth.
Conclusion

When it comes to finding the perfect piece of vintage furniture, Mississauga has no shortage of stores to choose from. From antique shops filled with classic pieces to modern stores that focus on upcycled and repurposed items, there’s something for everyone when it comes to vintage furniture shopping in this city.

The six stores listed above are some of the best in town, so be sure to check them out if you’re looking for a unique piece that will add personality and charm to your home.
